The yew from Southeast Asia is a hardy plant that requires very little water or light. The moss becomes 3-10 cm thick and can grow freely on any surface, making it ideal for decorating stones and tree roots or for concealing fixtures in an aquarium. Attach the plant with a piece of fishing or cotton thread until it is secured to the trim. If its growth becomes too lush, it can be pruned with scissors. In culture aquariums, Taxiphyllum barbieri is an excellent hiding place for young fish.
