Blyxa japonica originated in nutrient-rich shallow pools, swamps, and slow-flowing rivers in East and Southeast Asia.
The factory gained notoriety due to the late Takashi Amano and his aquarium work in the 90s.
Compared to other more robust plants, Blyxa has a distinctive grass-like appearance that moves easily through the circulating aquarium water, creating a sense of dynamism.
