Heteranthera zosterifolia comes from South America and is an extremely beautiful plant that develops many lateral branches that quickly form a dense flora.
Stems can grow to 30-50 cm high and 6-12 cm wide. The undersides of the leaves often turn black. Growth is dense in bright light, and plants must be trimmed before they become so compact that no light reaches the lower leaves. Water roots often form on the stems. These are easy to cut and replant.
In an open aquarium, if you let some buds spread over the surface, it will form small blue flowers.
