Anubias barteri var. Nana is a small and attractive plant that thrives in all conditions.
It originated in Cameroon and will reach a height of 5-10 cm. The rhizomes will be 10-15 cm or more. It grows slowly and leaves can survive for years, giving slow-growing algae a chance to gain a foothold. The best results are planted on stones or roots. Fishing line can be used to immobilize the plant until it is caught. If planted at the bottom, the rhizome cannot be covered, as it is prone to rot.
It often blooms underwater and will thrive in shade where other plants won't. Herbivorous fish do not eat it.
