This red version of Cryptophyta undulatus grows wild in rivers in Sri Lanka.
It is a simple plant that tolerates different conditions in the aquarium. The appearance of the plant depends in part on these conditions.
Low levels of light and nutrients produce relatively tall, slow-growing green-brown plants. Higher levels of light and nutrients, combined with added carbon dioxide, will cause plants to grow faster and produce shorter, reddish-brown leaves.

It is an easy plant, tolerant of very different conditions in an aquarium. Appearance of the plant will partially depend on these conditions.
Low levels of light and nutrients will produce a relatively tall, greenish-brown plant of slow growth. Higher levels of light and nutrients, combined with added CO2, will make the plant grow considerably faster producing shorter leaves of a reddish-brown colour.
